At St Charles', we aim for children to develop an interest in learning other languages in a way that is enjoyable and stimulating. We encourage confidence while striving to stimulate and encourage curiosity about different languages. We plan opportunities to develop pupil awareness of cultural similarities and differences between the UK and other countries.

Through the weekly teaching of French in Key Stage Two, we aim to embed the skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing within the context of another language. Our children enjoy a whole range of games, rhymes, songs and interactive activities as they learn to speak, listen, read and write in French.
